Prof. A. R. Yousuf attended INSPIRE Programme at University of Kashmir as Key note Speaker and delivered address on the topic “Why should our youth opt for Science” on 31^st July, 2011. Also presided over the INSPIRE Programme.

Prof. A. R. Yousuf attended One Day workshop National Level Workshop at Kolkata on “Ramsar designated Wetlands in India” and delivered a lecture on topic “Lake Tsomorari _ A Ramsar Site in J&K” on 21^st January, 2011.

Prof. A. R. Yousuf Presently involved in a Joint Research Project entitled “Himalayas: Modern and Past Climates (HIMPAC)” jointly conducted by scientists from India and Germany.

Centre of Research for Development actively participated in the organization of 6^th J&K Science Congress, at University of Kashmir on 2^nd to 4^th December, 2010

Prof. Azra Nahaid Kamili presented a research paper in Two Day National Seminar on “Technological Innovations in Saffron” held at SKUAST-K, Shalimar Srinagar on 25^th- 26^th November, 2010.

Prof. Azra Nahaid Kamili attended the meeting of “Scientific Advisory/ Project Screening Committee for J & K State” at Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu from 4^th to 5^th January, 2011. The meeting was organized by Department of Science & Technology, J& K Government.

Prof. Azra N. Kamili attended a meeting on Indian Vision 2035 (Northern Zone) at University of Jammu. The meeting was organized by TIFAC, DST, GoI in February, 2011.

Prof. A. R. Yousuf attended the National level workshop on 'Ramsar Designated Wetlands in India' on 21st January, 2011 at Kolkata organized by East Kolkata Wetland Management Authority.

M.phil Degree awarded:

Mr Javid Ahmad Shah research scholar CORD was awarded M. Phil Degree (Zoology) on the topic, “Crustacean community of Wular lake Kashmir”, under the supervision of Prof. A.K. Pandit on 22 May , 2012.

Prof. Azra Nahaid Kamili attended the First Meeting of the Project Evaluation/ Monitoring Committee on Saffron Network Programme, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, New Delhi and made a powerpoint presentation on the project proposal entitled “Tissue Culture Based Network Programme on Saffron (Crocus sativus L)” on 25^th May, 2012 .

Prof. A. R. Yousuf was invited by Central University Jammu for framing the syllabi of Environmental Science on 4and 5 June 2012.

Department of Environmental Science/CORD organized a one day seminar on Green Economy- Does it include YOU? in connection with World Environment Day on 5^th June 2012

Department of Environmental Science/CORD in collaboration with DSW and NSS organized A Cleanliness Drive around world famous Dal Lake on 6^th June, 2012

Prof. Azra Nahaid Kamili has been appointed as an external examiner for conducting practical examination of M.Sc. Students of P.G. Department of Environmental Science, Jammu University, Jammu on 8^th June, 2012.

A team of researchers in connection with HIMPAC (Himalayan: Modern and Past Climates) in collaboration with Geo Forschungs Zentrum (GFZ) Potsdam, Germany is currently involved in taking sediment core samples from Manasbal, Wular and Dal lake.

Research Associate namely Miss Sumira Jan has been selected for Postdoc fellowship sponsored by DBT under the mentorship of Prof Azra Nahaid Kamili in June 2012.
